Apple released the 1st generation iPod Touch in the fall of 2007. This was a marked change from any previous iPod, and is more similar to the iPhone, than the iPod. iPhone memory options are 8, 16, and 32GB, so this is not an ideal product if you are looking to hold more than about 7,000 songs, for the 32GB version. The iPhone has incredible capabilities compared to the ipod, including wi-fi access that lets you browse the web, use maps, download applications and songs wirelessly, etc. It is possible to Jailbreak the touch and have even more functions. Jailbroken iPod Touches can be found on eBay.
List price is $399 for the 32GB iPhone.
Overstock may have refurbished iPod Touch but currently limited to the 8GB model for $210.
eBay sells the 8GB iPod Touch for less than $200 new and $177 used.
eBay also has the first generation and larger capacity iPods, as well as Jail broken models available.
